What is Holy Week?
Holy means “set apart.” We invite all followers of Jesus to set apart the week before Easter as we join together for a special time of devotion and worship.
The earliest followers of Jesus saw their weekly gatherings as opportunities to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus. Sometime later, they developed a tradition of gathering annually to hold an all-night vigil that ended with a sunrise Easter celebration of worship, baptism and communion. This practice has today become what we call Holy Week, a series of services that enable us to participate in Christ’s own journey — from his triumphal entry into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to the empty tomb on Easter morning.
We invite you to join us on this journey as we join millions of Christians around the world and down through history in the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!
